Those Were The Days

Commissioned in memory of a good Red taken too soon, this is a piece of work for which I dropped everything – waiting list or no waiting list – when a previous customer (Phil, who owns The Garage Wall banner) contacted me to tell me that his matchgoing friend Dava had tragically died a few days previously.

He asked if I might be able to move a few things around to have a banner ready for the funeral in a couple of weeks, so we set the ball in motion and a few days later, all the cutting is done – I am ready to lay it out today.

Update: the banner was completed in time for the funeral and for a celebration of Dava’s life a few days later. The flag became the perfect backdrop to these occasions, and the family were so pleased with it that they have since asked me to produce several replicas so that they can all have one.
