Using the sustainable platform of RedBubble, I have just begun to offer some carefully selected banner designs in the form of clothing and other merchandise.

Available in a range of colours and sizes on all manner of garments, not to mention phone cases, stickers, mugs and face masks.

Initially available in four designs, with (hopefully) a couple more to come in future if it goes well.

First up is my “Deus nobis haec otia fecit” design. Taken from the 1st century poet Publius Vergilius Maro (Virgil) and his Eclogues (a series of poems on pastoral themes), the quote refers not to “God” but to the deified Emperor Augustus, a patron of Virgil. Later adopted by the city of Liverpool as its motto and adorning its arms, this is a design as much about pride in the City as pride in the club. In my design, I reimagined the colouring of the city arms (which appeared on Liverpool’s league title medals in 1901), and as a nod to more recent successes, 6 stars form the crown of Neptune. A two-colour rendering of the text around it adds to the historical feel of the design.

Also available is my “Heavy Metal Football” design, an homage to Jurgen and his promise on which he has delivered so spectacularly.

Thirdly, with apologies to Magritte, you can order my latest design, “Ceci n’est pas qu’un oiseau” – “This is not just a bird.” This is another design about civic pride and its embodiment in the Liverbird. Less about LFC and more about Liverpool, it comes in a range of colours – a perfect gift for anyone with a purple bin.

Finally, one of my most successful designs – “World Beaters” – which is my personal tribute to Liverpool’s two greatest exports, its music and its (one) successful football team.
